Aegosoma maopaseuthi and Aegosoma namkatensis have been recently described as species new to science from Nam Kat Yorla Pa forest.

A.maopaseuthi has been named in honor of Mr Somphet MAOPASEUTH, in order to recognize his effort in forest conservation and ecotourism and for the interest that he gives about biodiversity in Laos.

A.namkatensis has been named so as it has only been found in Nam Kat Yorla Pa so far.

A.maopaseuthi flies in April and May, while A.namkatensis flies during the rain season, in July and August.
