Name: Papilio paris
Family: PAPILIONIDAE
Description:

Papilio paris is very common in montane forests at low to high elevations (Alt. 250 - 1800m). Both sexes visit flowers.

Males form flight paths along streams or forest edges, and frequently come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water.

It can be seen from February through November.

Atrophaneura astorion is the species that females of Papilio agenor form: agenor use as a model for mimicry, flying at the same time of the day, and are very similar in flight.

Males can easily be seen mud-puddling, and they even fly under small rain showers. Females are often attracted to Lantana flowers.
